The Romance of Effort

You gotta show up. No shortcuts. No secret formulas. If you don’t show up for yourself, whatever you get will never carry real weight. It will never truly feel yours.

The value is in self-worth. A single final goal can’t be the whole answer to life. Without the journey, the destination is empty. People trade their values too easily for things that bring no meaning, no growth, no self-respect.

Look at how romantic the past feels. Effort once mattered. Struggle gave weight to the smallest things. Waiting days to download the wrong movie. Recording a song off the radio. Holding something earned with patience.

It meant something.

Humans sabotage themselves by nature. We’re drawn to danger. Everyone knows where we’re heading and yet we still twist the throttle. That probably won’t change anytime soon.

But I’m grateful I’m self-aware often enough to follow my gut not some algorithm. Not some trend. And trust me, it means a great deal to people like us. The ones brave enough to read this far.

“F the system” used to be a cool line on some Skyrock blog in my careless childhood.
Now I feel it with everything I am.

Not many of us are left. So this is a message to the wolves among the sheep: We are here. We are resisting.

I transcribed this caption, by the way.
Pretty wild how you can empty your thoughts and watch every word appear in real time.

It’s powerful.

It’s also dangerous.
